Accessibility Statement
Our Commitment
Abbalé Modern Mediterranean Kitchen (“Abbalé,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for all guests, including people with disabilities. We are continually working to improve the usability and accessibility of our website, www.abbaletlv.com, so that everyone can browse our menus, learn about our locations, and connect with us with confidence. We believe that great hospitality extends to how we welcome guests online, not only at our tables in South Beach and Aventura.
Standards We Follow
We aim for our website to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, language, learning, and neurological disabilities. WCAG conformance is an ongoing effort rather than a one-time achievement. As our site evolves, we continue to review new pages and features against these standards.
Accessibility Features on Our Site
To support a more accessible experience, our website includes:
- An accessibility toolbar, available from the icon in the bottom corner of every page, that lets you increase or decrease text size, switch to grayscale, enable high contrast or negative contrast display, apply a light background, underline links, and switch to a more readable font, with a one-click option to reset any changes.
- A “Skip to Content” link for keyboard users, allowing navigation directly to the main content without tabbing through the header and menu on every page.
- Visible keyboard focus outlines on interactive elements such as links, buttons, and form fields, so guests navigating by keyboard can see where they are on the page.
- Structured, semantic page layouts, including proper heading hierarchy and landmark regions, to support screen readers and other assistive technologies.
- Descriptive alternative text on meaningful images, and a responsive design that adapts to different screen sizes, orientations, and zoom levels.
- Sufficient color contrast between text and background across our core pages, reviewed against WCAG AA thresholds.
Known Limitations
Despite our efforts, some parts of our website may not yet be fully accessible. Areas we are actively monitoring and improving include:
- Third-party reservation and online ordering platforms (such as our reservations widget and online ordering system), which are operated by outside providers and are not fully within our direct control. We encourage guests who experience difficulty with these tools to contact us directly, and we are happy to complete a reservation or order on your behalf.
- PDF and image-based menus, which may not be fully compatible with screen readers in all cases. A staff member can always read or describe our current menu over the phone or by email.
- Embedded maps, social media feeds, and video content provided by third-party services (such as Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok), which follow those platforms’ own accessibility practices.
We are working to address these limitations over time and welcome feedback that helps us prioritize improvements.
Feedback and Assistance
We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of our website. If you encounter a barrier, have trouble using any feature, or need assistance accessing information about our menus, locations, reservations, or events, please contact us:
Abbalé Modern Mediterranean Kitchen
Email: info@abbaletlv.com
- South Beach: (239) 539-5251
- Aventura: (239) 456-3761
When contacting us, it is helpful (but not required) to include the web page or feature you were trying to use and the browser or assistive technology you were using, so we can address the issue as quickly as possible. We aim to respond to accessibility feedback within 5 business days. If you would prefer to complete a reservation, place an order, or ask about catering or private events by phone or email rather than through the website, our team is always glad to help.
Technical Information
This website uses semantic HTML markup and an accessibility toolbar to provide the display and navigation options described above. We test our site using a combination of automated scanning tools and manual review, including keyboard-only navigation and screen reader spot-checks, across current versions of major browsers. Accessibility support relies on compatible browsers and, in some cases, up-to-date assistive technology. Older or unsupported browser versions may not fully support all accessibility features on this site.
Ongoing Efforts
Accessibility is an ongoing priority for Abbalé, not a one-time project. We periodically review our website, retrain our team on accessible content practices, and update this statement as improvements are made. This statement was last reviewed on the date noted above.
Formal Complaints
If you are not satisfied with our response to an accessibility concern, you may also have the right to file a complaint with the U.S. Department of Justice under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), or with the applicable authority in your jurisdiction. We would, however, appreciate the opportunity to address your concern directly first.
