About Us

Our Story

Abbalé was born from a simple belief: food is most meaningful when it brings people together.

Our name is rooted in the Hebrew word Abba, meaning “father”, a reflection of the warmth, hospitality, and sense of home we want every guest to feel.

Founded by Executive Chef Samuel Gorenstein and Omer Horev, Abbalé is a chef-driven restaurant inspired by the flavors and traditions of the Mediterranean and Middle East, brought to life through a fresh, modern perspective.

Everything begins in our kitchen. Our dishes are made from scratch with thoughtfully sourced, high-quality ingredients, and our cooking is seed oil-free. From the food we create to the way we welcome our guests, every detail is intentional. We continue to evolve our menus, refine our service, and find new ways to create an experience that feels warm, personal, and connected, one that always feels a little like home.

The founders

Abbalé was born from the shared vision of hospitality entrepreneur Omer Horev, the man behind Pura Vida, and Executive Chef Samuel Gorenstein. With years of experience building successful hospitality concepts, Omer brings a passion for creating spaces centered around great food, connection, and hospitality. A Colombian-born chef of Syrian heritage, Sam brings a culinary perspective shaped by his multicultural roots, training under acclaimed chefs including Michael Schwartz, and the creation of beloved Miami concepts such as My Ceviche and Zuuk.

Together, they created Abbalé as a place where Mediterranean cooking is generous, vibrant, and made for sharing… an experience shaped as much by the people around the table as by what’s on it.
